Prudentopolis, also known as the land of giant waterfalls is a treasure in south-central Parana. There are more than 100 waterfalls cataloged, and among them is the Salto de San Francisco, which is 196 meters high and is perfect for extreme sports like abseiling.
This city with a little more than 50 thousand inhabitants, of strong Ukrainian colonization, has some highlights in the food industry: the first one being the black bean. To celebrate the largest production of black beans in Brazil, there is the traditional National Black Bean Festival (FENAFEP) which annually celebrates the production with a feijoada (bean stew) made in Brazil's largest pot, which alone weighs more than 12 tons and is more than 2 meters high!
Another highlight is "cracóvia" a salami made from the mixture of pork or pork loin, without fat, processed along with seasonings such as garlic, pepper and salt. Delicious.
And, of course, the local yerba mate.
The preserved nature creates the perfect conditions for the development of high quality yerba mate plants. That is why we installed one of our yerba mate factories there. Being close to local producers, we can ensure agility between harvesting and processing, which is one of many essential points of a good yerba mate!
